How to care for your wooden bowl.

If you will be using your wood bowl for display, no special care is required.

  • Your bowl has a food grade finish.

  • It is best to use drier foods such as fruits, crackers, breads and nuts rather than wet food. A lettuce salad is fine, but we would avoid adding the salad dressing directly to the lettuce and serve the dressing on the side.

  • The poly-finish (shiny) is low maintenance. After use, rinse with warm water and a mild dish soap, then dry immediately with a soft towel.

  • The hard wax finish (matte), wipe off with a damp cloth. Do not get too wet. The bowl will

  • need to be re-waxed every few years.

  • Avoid putting hot popcorn directly into bowl, let cool a bit first.

  • Do not put a wood bowl in the dishwasher or submerge in water.

  • Bowls with a natural live edge bark finish are recommended for display only.

No two bowls are alike!

Wood grains, even from the same species of wood are never alike. There will always be variations in the grain patterns and shades of color.
